Why we started this practice

Good care is built on a relationship. Relationships take time.

The relationship between a doctor and a patient develops over years, and it is often what makes care work. Too often, it never gets the chance to form:

  • Doctors don't have enough time with each patient to really get to know them.
  • Care is steered by algorithms and metrics set by insurers and other organizations, rather than by what is right for the patient.
  • There is rarely time for the conversations, about goals, concerns, and the risks and benefits of each option, that build trust.

We are two internal medicine physicians who have each spent more than a decade as hospitalists on the Seacoast. Over those years we have worked side by side, caring for the same patients, and we have found that we practice medicine in very much the same way. We started this practice to care for a small number of patients, get to know each of them over the years, and do what is right for the individual. We welcome the conversation about risks and benefits; it is part of good care, not a detour from it.

A limited patient panel
We accept only a small number of patients, by design. We cap enrollment so we never trade time with patients for volume.
Seven days a week
Both of us cover the practice, including weekends and days when we are both on hospital service.
One flat fee
A membership covers our services. We do not bill insurance.

How it works

What happens when you contact us

We also work in the hospital, so here is exactly how the practice runs.

01

Contact us

Call, text, or email the practice line with your question or concern, any day of the week.

02

We call you back

If we are with hospital patients, leave a message. One of us calls back later that day. Messages left late at night are returned the next day.

03

Video or home visit

Many concerns are settled by phone or telemedicine. If you need to be seen, we arrange a home visit the same day or the next.

04

Follow-through

We order labs and imaging, send prescriptions to your pharmacy, and coordinate with your specialists so your care follows one plan.

This practice does not handle emergencies. For chest pain, stroke symptoms, serious injury, or anything that cannot wait until morning, call 911 or go to the emergency room. We coordinate your care afterward.

Common questions

Questions and answers

Do I still need health insurance?

Yes. The membership covers our care and coordination; it is not insurance. You will still want coverage for hospitalizations, specialists, imaging, and prescriptions.

Why is the practice so small?

Because the relationship is the point. Keeping a small patient panel means we have time for every patient, and we come to know your history, your preferences, and what is normal for you.

You both work in the hospital. How does that affect my care?

When we are on hospital service you may reach voicemail. Both of us cover the practice, even when we are both on service. We call back later that day, or the next day for messages left late at night, and arrange a video or home visit the same day or the next when you need one.

Are you available on weekends?

Yes. You can reach us seven days a week.

Will I see the same doctor every time?

You will see one of the two of us. We share the practice and both know every patient, so whoever responds already knows your history.

Are lab fees included?

No. We order and review your labs, but lab fees are billed separately and are not covered by the membership.

I already see several specialists. What do you add?

Coordination. Patients with several specialists often get advice that conflicts, with no one physician sorting it out. We review what your specialists recommend, explain it, and keep one coherent plan.

Which towns do you serve?

We make home visits in Brentwood, Exeter, Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kensington, New Castle, Newfields, Newington, Newmarket, North Hampton, Portsmouth, Rye, and Stratham.

Do you see children?

No. We are internal medicine physicians and see adults only.

Can I buy a membership for my parents?

Yes. Some memberships are arranged by adult children for a parent, particularly when travel to appointments is difficult. The introduction and care happen with the patient; billing can go to whoever arranges the membership.

Why do you meet new patients first?

Because membership is limited and care in this model depends on the relationship. The introduction is free and lets both sides decide whether it is a good fit.
